What we do

Empowering Workers, Advancing Rights, Building a Just Future.

Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) is dedicated to promoting workers right, fair wages, and safe workplaces for the workers in different sector of industries. Through policy advocacy, trade union strengthening, and worker empowerment initiatives, we strive to ensure social justice and sustainable labour practices. BLF collaborates with workers union, government, employers and employers association, and global stakeholders to promote ethical supply chains and sustainability. Through policy advocacy, capacity-building, and social justice initiatives, we work to align national labour policies with international standards like ILO Conventions, UNGPs, and OECD guidelines.

Policy Advocacy & Legal Reforms

We work to shape fair labor policies by advocating for stronger legal protections and systemic reforms. Through engagement with policymakers, legal experts, and stakeholders, we ensure that labor laws evolve to safeguard workers’ rights, promote fair wages, and improve workplace safety.

Worker Empowerment & Trade Union Strengthening

We believe in strengthening workers’ voices by supporting trade unions, fostering leadership, and providing legal and organizational training. By equipping workers with the knowledge and skills to negotiate fair wages, safe conditions, and dignified treatment, we help build a more empowered and united workforce.

Corporate Accountability & Ethical Supply Chains

We promote ethical business practices by holding corporations accountable for labor rights violations. Through advocacy, transparency initiatives, and collaboration with brands and policymakers, we push for responsible supply chains that prioritize fair wages, safe working conditions, and human dignity.

Sector-Specific Labour Rights Interventions

Different industries face unique labor challenges. We design targeted interventions in key sectors such as garments, construction, and agriculture to address industry-specific labor rights issues. By working closely with workers, businesses, and regulatory bodies, we drive meaningful improvements in working conditions.

Social Protection & Economic Security

Every worker deserves financial stability and security. We advocate for policies that ensure fair wages, healthcare, pensions, and unemployment benefits, pushing for social protection measures that prevent exploitation and safeguard the economic well-being of workers and their families.

Research, Awareness & Campaign

Knowledge is power, and we use research and awareness campaigns to drive meaningful change. By conducting in-depth studies, publishing reports, and launching advocacy initiatives, we inform policymakers, businesses, and the public about labor rights issues, fostering a more just and equitable society.
