Advocacy for Home- Based Workers of RMG Supply Chain

Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) held an Advocacy Meeting with the Upazila Social Welfare Officer of Savar Upazila to champion the rights and inclusion of home-based workers in the government’s Social Safety Net Program.

In the meeting, we:

  • Highlighted the challenges faced by home-based workers – from income instability to lack of recognition.
  • Advocated for their inclusion in social protection schemes, such as allowances and financial aid programs.
  • Discussed collaborative solutions to create a local registry for home-based workers, ensuring they’re not left behind in future.
The Upazila Social Welfare Office express their commitment to paving the way for a more inclusive safety net, ensuring that no worker is left unprotected.
Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) has been implementing the project “Promoting Decent Work and Organizing for the targeted Home-based Workers to Engaged Formal RMG Supply Chain” which is supported by Oxfam GB and funded by European Union.
