Real change starts when everyone comes together with a shared purpose. That’s exactly what happened when representatives from 36 tanneries, the Tannery Workers Union, and the Bangladesh Tanners Association came together for a day-long workshop on Advancing Social Compliance Towards LWG Certification.
The session turned into a lively exchange of ideas, where participants discussed challenges, shared experiences, and learned from factories already certified under LWG, BSCI, and SEDEX.
From DIFE inspections to employer responsibilities, and the role of government- no topic was off the table.
The energy in the room reflected one clear message: building a socially compliant tannery sector is not just about certification, it’s about respect, responsibility, and readiness for a more sustainable future.
