Staff Capacity Building Training on “Bangladesh Labour Laws and Rules”

A staff capacity building training on ‘Bangladesh Labour Laws and Rules’ was arranged by the  Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) on June 28-29, 2024, at the conference hall of BLF.

Staff capacity is one of the top priority areas for the Bangladesh Labour Foundation, and we are constantly striving to enhance the skills and capabilities of our team members. This training was facilitated by representatives of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE). Bangladesh has strong labour laws that include various clauses to protect the rights and interests of workers. However, effective implementation of these laws is hindered by a lack of awareness. Additionally, BLF’s study shows that workers’ rights and labour laws are violated in the local ready-made garment sector and the tannery industry.

In this context, it is essential for workers to be informed about the provisions of the labour law to foster leadership among them.
Through this two-day-long paralegal training, BLF’s staff have enriched their knowledge and become more capable of protecting labour laws and rights. We believed that our employees can now play a more effective role in the implementation of workers’ rights in Bangladesh
