Training for Tannery workers on OSH, Labour Rights, GBV and Advocacy/Negotiation Skills

Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) organized a 2 days long non-residential training on OSH, Labour Rights, GBV and Advocacy/Negotiation skills for Tannery Workers with the financial and technical support of The Asia Foundation (TAF). The training was organized at Tannery Workers Union Hall Room, Hemayetpur, Savar, Dhaka on 21st January to 22nd January 2022. A total of 25 workers from different factories of the Tannery Industries participated in the training where 7 were female. The main objective of the training is to increase the knowledge and build the capacity of the participants. It is expected that participants will be able to organize factory level awareness sessions and will be able to perform to improve the workplace environment of the factory level based on their developed action plan. Selected Core group and Cadre group facilitators and external resource person facilitated the training. Apart from the program team Md. Ohidur Rahman, Labour Inspector (General) of Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishment (DIFE) was presented in the training as guest facilitator. A M Sajjad Hossain, Senior Program Officer of The Asia Foundation also inaugurated the training.
