World Environment Day Roundtable Calls for Worker-Centred Climate Action
On World Environment Day 2026, Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF), together with NAJTB and the SMEP Program, organized a roundtable discussion
Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF), with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has launched an initiative to strengthen awareness and capacity of mid-level factory management and workers’ representatives. The program’s main objectives are to prevent gender-based violence (GBV), advance decent work principles, and set up efficient anti-harassment committees and grievance procedures in industrial settings.
Building Inclusive and Safer Workplaces
The concept helps factories create safer, more respectable, and inclusive settings through interactive, on-site training sessions. Additionally, it promotes meaningful social communication between employees and management and strengthens industrial connections.
This initiative was implemented under the SWAPNO II Programme, contributing to better working conditions and stronger worker–management relationships across industrial workplaces in Bangladesh.
