Training on OSH and GBV for Home Based RMG Workers

Bangladesh Labour Foundation – BLF with the support of European Union and Oxfam in Bangladesh organized training on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and Gender Based Violence (GBV) for home-based workers in the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector on 14-15 December, 2024.

Home-based workers are the unsung heroes of the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) industry in Bangladesh, contributing significantly to the sector while working from their homes. Despite their crucial role, they often face:

  • Limited access to occupational health and safety (OHS) resources.
  • Poor working conditions, such as inadequate lighting, ventilation, and ergonomic setups.
  • Exclusion from labor protections and benefits.

This initiative focuses on:

  • Raising awareness about workplace hazards and safety measures.
  • Providing practical guidance for creating safer home workspaces.
  • Promoting health and well-being for workers who play a critical role in the RMG supply chain.

Together, we’re building a safer, stronger industry.
