Training For Tannery Workers | Savar

Training For Tannery Workers has been organized by Bangladesh Labour Foundation on OSH, Labour Rights, GBV, and Advocacy/Negotiation skills with the support of The Asia Foundation (TAF).

This 2-day long training was organized at Salma Leather Corporation, Hemayetpur, Savar, Dhaka on 05-06 August 2022 and 25 workers from 11 tannery factories participated there.

The main objective of the training was to increase the knowledge and build the capacity of the participants.

The course covered Basic concept of Labour Law, Occupational safety and health, Gender-Based Violence, and Negotiation skills

It is expected that participants will be able to organize factory-level awareness sessions and perform to improve the workplace environment at the factory level based on their developed action plan.

Selected Core group and Cadre group facilitators and an external resource person facilitated the training. Md. Mehedi Hasan, DIG (Health) of Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishment (DIFE) was presented in the training as a guest facilitator. Samiha Jamil, Consultant, The Asia Foundation also attended the training as a guest.
