Position Overview:
The Associate Officer – Communication will support the Communication team in developing and implementing effective communication strategies to enhance the visibility and public engagement of Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF). The position will contribute to the development of creative communication materials, digital content, event coverage, media coordination, and other communication initiatives.
The position will play an important role in communicating BLF’s work and achievements related to child labour elimination, labour rights, gender equality, social justice, decent work, and workers’ rights through engaging and accessible print and digital content.
The Associate Officer will also support the maintenance of BLF’s visual identity and ensure consistency across communication materials, platforms, campaigns, publications, events, and other organizational outputs.
Preferred Job Description/Responsibilities
- Develop creative and engaging communication materials for print and digital platforms.
- Design posters, banners, brochures, leaflets, social media graphics, presentations, reports, publications, and other communication materials.
- Support the development and implementation of digital communication and social media content.
- Create visual content that effectively communicates BLF’s programs, activities, achievements, and advocacy messages.
- Ensure consistency with BLF’s visual identity, branding guidelines, and communication standards.
- Support photography, videography, and documentation of organizational events, meetings, workshops, campaigns, and field activities.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to collect information, photographs, stories, data, and other materials for communication purposes.
- Develop and edit social media content, captions, visuals, and other digital communication materials.
- Support the preparation of newsletters, success stories, case studies, reports, publications, and other communication products.
- Assist in maintaining and updating communication-related digital platforms and content.
- Support media coordination and communication with journalists, media outlets, and other relevant stakeholders when required.
- Assist in organizing and documenting press conferences, campaigns, public events, workshops, seminars, and other communication activities.
- Contribute to campaigns and advocacy initiatives related to labour rights, child labour elimination, gender equality, social justice, and workers’ rights.
- Maintain an organized archive of photographs, videos, design files, publications, communication materials, and other digital assets.
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of communication materials.
- Perform any other communication-related duties assigned by the management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Mass Communication and Journalism, Media Studies, Graphic Design, Development Studies, Social Science, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional experience in communication, graphic design, digital content creation, media, development organizations, NGOs, or related fields will be preferred.
- Candidates with strong portfolios and practical experience in communication and design are encouraged to apply.
- Experience working with NGOs, civil society organizations, development organizations, labour rights organizations, or social justice initiatives will be an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- Good understanding of branding, visual identity, and communication standards
- Good knowledge of graphic design principles and visual storytelling.
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, or equivalent tools.
- Strong content-writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Good understanding of social media platforms and digital communication.
- Ability to edit photographs and basic video content will be an advantage.
- Fluency in Bangla and English, both written and spoken, is preferred.
