A K M Ashraf Uddin has more than 20 years of experience in the field of workers’ welfare and capacity building in Bangladesh currently holding the position of Executive Director of Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF).

Since 2009 Mr. A K M Ashraf Uddin successfully led Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) and working for establishing the right of the workers as well as to ensure a decent working environment, welfare of the workers in the sector of industries in Bangladesh. Previously he had worked as program coordinator of Garment program in Bangladesh National Council (BNC) of Textile Garment and Leather Workers. Before this he worked as a coordinator in the ITGLWF/BNC Project Titled “Elimination of Child Labour from the Garment industry.”

He had also worked as a Senior Research Officer in Associated for Community and Population Research (ACPR). He had also worked as Research Officer in Development Assistant Council (DAC). Through his journey he was participated in training and research in government and non-government sectors with regard to education and training.

He has completed MBA in marketing from the University of Greenwich in the UK. He has also completed professional diploma on Occupational Health and Safety & HIV AIDs from ILO Turin Center, Italy and Diploma on Trade Union Philosophy from JILAF, Japan. He has also received several international trainings on different topics such as Study Circle Method of Education, Gender Based Violence, Elimination of Child Labour, Young Leadership etc. He has visited many countries included USA, UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Thailand, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Srilanka, Japan, Australia.


Mr. Ashraf is a lead trainer on different subjects such as Trade Union Philosophy, Occupational Health & Safety, HIV AIDs and Reproductive Health, FOA and Collective Bargaining, Elimination of Child Labour, Fire Safety, Leadership, Social Compliance and Productivity etc.

He is having a strong background of research and study and conducted different study in the field of Child Labour, Gender Based Violence, Tannery Workers, Local RMG Workers, Living Wage, Home Based Workers etc.

He is also a member of National Child Labour Welfare Council (NCLWF). He is also a member of Global Network of Civil Society organization for Disaster Reduction (GNDR).
